NY 23: 5% Stupid

The Republicans had more votes in NY District 23 in last night's election; unfortunately, their vote was split between 2 candidates allowing the Democrat to win.  5% of the vote was still cast for  Scazzafava, which proves 5% of the voters there are really stupid.

Why vote for a candidate that can't win; a candidate who withdrew from the election?  Way to throw away your vote and elect the Democrat.  And if that's what you wanted, why didn't you just vote for the Democrat directly?  Stupid is what 5% stupid voted in NY 23 last night.

Vote Republican; Vote Early, Vote Often

I'm originally from Chicago. Yeah, Obama's city (sorry, Mayor Daley).
But I was there long before him, and I was born there.  Only God and
Obama knows where he was born.

Anyway, The "Vote Early, Vote Often" is a Chicago saying.  It's how
the Democrats in Chicago practice "Democracy."  I use it as humor, not
as a legitimate suggestion.  Although, "they" say "fight fire with fire." Hmmmmm.

Now, I am not a registered Republican.  I am and always have been an Independent.
I have never contributed to any political party or to any candidate; doubt I ever will.
However, it has become clear to me over the years that  the Democratic Party has become
nothing but a bunch of truth-challenged, liberal/progressive/socialist/communist/fascist
American-hating criminals, hell bent on destroying this country.

The Republicans certainly have their problems, but the majority are America loving Patriots.
I would hate to have to vote for many of them.  I voted for McCain, but closed my eyes and
ran home and took a shower.  If nothing else, he wasn't a Democrat.  I liked some things Bush Jr.
did and hated others (ie, trying to grant amnesty to illegal aliens), but his best quality was that
he wasn't a Democrat.  No doubt in my mind he was far better than Gore or Kerry (I shudder at
the thought).

So, why not vote for an independent, or a Libertarian, or write in someone else, you may ask?
Because that would be wasting my vote.  Elections have consequences (dire ones as we see now)
and we must make sure that the "best" candidate (or the "least bad" candidate) wins.

There are elections coming up next month.  Hopefully, the GOP will win the governorships in
Virginia and New Jersey.  Only God knows why anyone would want to be the Governor of
New Jersey, but I digress.  (Hey, I've lived there; I know.)  That will build on the recent Republican
wins in congressional races for vacated seats.

In a year there will be a bigger election, with all Representatives and a third of the Senators up for
re-election.  All must vote for Republicans and take back the House and reduce the Democratic
majority in the Senate.  Then in 2012 we can get rid of the "Great Pretender" in the White House
and take back control of the Senate.

I'm all for voting for a good 3rd party or independent candidate that has a "real" chance at winning.
But I want to save the country and the only way to do that is to vote Republican.
